Energy Counsel
Will be responsible for certain onshore land acquisition, exploration, development and Production activities. Will be working closely with, among others, MCBU Asset Development, Business Development, Environmental Management, Finance, Health, Environmental and Safety, Land, Operations, Policy Government and Public Affairs, and Supply Chain Management personnel to achieve results in the U.
S. onshore region that includes client Operations.
Provide Legal advice and counsel on the U.S.
Legal and regulatory issues facing MCBU, including Oil and Gas, joint Operations, pipelines, casualty, commercial, compliance, and property rights. Represent the company in negotiations with landowners/royalty owners, joint interest owners, contractors, suppliers, customers, and Legal counsel, to conclude exploration, Production, land, Gas sales/processing, and other agreements.
Draft, review and/or approve complex contracts across a full range of land matters, Operations, transactions and business activities. Work with clients and colleague attorneys to manage and resolve disputes with third parties.
Offer General corporate and Legal advice on compliance requirements, risk exposures and mitigation in areas such as antitrust, bankruptcy, corporate governance, employment, health, Environmental and Safety, Information Technology, Procurement, public lands and policy. Partner with enterprise law practice groups and upstream and Gas litigation Management as appropriate.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctor degree in Law from an accredited law school. Membership in the State Bar of Texas, or admitted in another U.
S. jurisdiction and must be admitted to practice in Texas within twelve months after placement.
5+ years of experience, preferably in upstream Oil and Gas Legal experience in providing Oil and Gas contracting and Legal advice and counsel to clients. Deadline: June 12, 2012.
